THE ARROGANT GUEST HAD NO IDEA THE CHILD OWNED THE ROYAL BANQUET HALL

The rich crimson liquid dripped steadily from the hem of the simple white floral dress, pooling on the polished marble floor of the grand pavilion. The soft clinking of luxury dinnerware and the low hum of the string quartet died away into a heavy, suffocating silence as the empty wine glass clattered against the table.

"You don't belong in this wing," the woman in the black dress said, her voice dropping into that flat, mocking cadence she used when she wanted to humiliate someone in front of an audience. She adjusted her heavy diamond necklace, looking down at the eight-year-old girl with a sneer. "This banquet is for the city's elite, not for some starving brat who managed to slip past the gates. Security, throw this eyesore out into the street before she ruins the evening for the rest of the VIP guests."

A few patrons in the adjacent booths chuckled softly, adjusting their tailored blazers and leaning forward, expecting a routine eviction. The woman stood there smirking, completely convinced her wealth and high-class status gave her the right to treat anyone beneath her like trash.

But the little girl didn't cry. She didn't flinch, and she didn't back down. Instead, she stood perfectly upright, her small hands resting quietly at her sides as she stared back with an eerie, fearless calm that sent a sudden, quiet chill through the surrounding crowd. She reached into her pocket, pulled out a clean linen handkerchief, and calmly wiped a splash of wine from her cheek with slow, deliberate movements.

Before the security guards could even step forward, the heavy oak doors of the grand hall burst open. The venue’s top general manager rushed onto the floor, his face completely pale and his forehead beaded with sweat as he frantically pushed past the velvet ropes.

The woman’s triumphant smile widened, assuming the manager had arrived to personally handle the intruder. "Mr. Vance, thank goodness. This little girl is ruining the aesthetic of the—"
