CHAPTER 4 – THE BASEMENT

CHAPTER 4 – THE BASEMENT

Emily woke up in the darkness.

A strong smell of chemicals.

Her wrists were bound.

A figure stood before her.

Not Jonathan.

Not Dr. Harris.

But...

An elderly woman.

She smiled.

"Finally awake."

Emily tried to back away.

"Who are you?"

The woman placed an old photograph on the table.

In the picture was a girl about eight years old.

Standing beside...

It was Emily.

But Emily had never seen this photograph before.

"Impossible..."

The woman smiled.

"I don't remember."

"Because your memories have been taken."

Emily was stunned.

"Jonathan isn't the scariest thing."

"Neither is Dr. Harris."

"They're just pawns."

Emily trembled.

"So... who's behind this?"

The woman looked straight into her eyes.

Then she spoke a name.

A name that made Emily burst into tears.

"My father."

Just then...

The iron door behind them opened.

Someone descended into the basement.

The sound of footsteps echoed.

The woman's face turned pale.

"They've found us."

A figure appeared.

May you like

In their hand...

was a silenced gun.
